Easter with a twist

Huronia Museum is getting in the Easter spirit!

Join us on Saturday, April 23rd for cookie decorating and a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt.  Bring the kids and enjoy a unique twist on a traditional egg hunt, exploring the museum in the dark and collecting your eggs to win a prize.

Plus kids can have fun decorating their very own Easter cookie and take part in our colouring contest to win a free week of camp.

Our Easter egg hunt will run from 1 PM to 3 PM on SaturdayApril 23rd.  The cost is $1 per child and a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army Food Bank.

About our speaker:
Joe Martin is Director of Canadian Business History at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and author of Relentless Change: A Casebook for the Study of Canadian Business History. He has also contributed four of the days in the forthcoming book 100 Days That Changed Canada.
Joe is a generous and active supporter of many historical organizations – and a much sought-after fund-raiser. He is President Emeritus of Canada’s History Society, publisher of Canada’ History, formerly the Beaver, a former member of the Executive of the Ontario Historical Society and a Past President of the Manitoba Historical Society. He is currently the historian for Toronto’s prestigious Albany Club.
In 1995 he joined the faculty of the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto.
Joe Martin is often seen as a panelist on PBS, BNN and TVO, and quoted in the print media such as The Financial Post, The Economist, The Financial Times (of London), The Toronto Star, The National Post, The Winnipeg Free Press … and even The Midland Free Press. He lectures on cruise-ships and regularly participates in business and history symposiums.

This event takes place on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 5:00 pm at the North Simcoe Sports And Recreation Centre in Midland, Ontario.

POSITION: Administrative and Retail Assistant
Huronia Museum is hiring an Administrative and Retail Assistant for 22.5 hours per week for 26 weeks.
The Administrative and Retail Assistant divides its time up between administrative and retail duties and is responsible to the management team of Huronia Museum.
Skill Requirements:
Administrative: Communicating effectively in writing; knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing; managing files and records; attend meetings to record minutes; manage mail and faxes; general typing
Retail Sales: Customer operations; communication with wholesalers; support the Retail Manager with annual inventory; handling cash and balancing tills and providing excellent customer service.
Fundraising/Special Events: Scheduling and organizing of events and bookings in auditorium; attending to all permit and license applications; assist with fundraising projects; support of Film Series Coordinator
