Thanks, Bill. The new list hadn’t made the switch to the new site.
Hey, when does the board meet and where do you post the minutes?
Hello,
The board of directors meets every third Tuesday of the month. This month’s meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm in the museum’s auditorium.
The minutes from the meetings are not posted online, as there has never been a request for this but this is certainly something for us to look into for the future.
As required of us as a not-for-profit charity, minutes are available to the public on site at the museum. Please feel free to stop by to have a look at the minutes binder.
If there is anything else with which I can help you, please do not hesitate to call us at 705-526-2844 or email me directly at nahanni.born@huroniamuseum.com
Thank you for your interest and have a great day.
When is this years AGM and how many positions are coming up for election due the expiration of their term? Are there any vacancies on the board?
Thank you for inquiring, John. This year’s AGM will take place at 2 pm at April 17th, 2016 in the museum’s auditorium.
A notice was posted int he newspaper and will be listed on our webpage shortly.
All the best

What is the role and involvement of the local Huron Wendat community within this museum’s board? Is there representation at all?
Hi Anna,
We do not currently have any indigenous people on our board and in truth there isn’t really a local Wendat community. The closest local band is Beausoliel Island First Nation and they are Ojibway. In the past when we have been working on dispalys and exhibits that involved indigenous history we have consulted with the Wendat community in Quebec as well as Beausoliel Island to get input and feedback from them.
The Wendat do still own traditional land just outside of Perkinsfield, but they don’t live on it. It is usually just used for the occassional gathering in the summertime. We do often get Wendat visitors at the museum when they are in the area, but I am not sure if they have been meeting there since the beginning the covid outbreak.
I hope this was helpful and answered your questions.
