Annual General Meeting of
Huronia Museum Membership
will take place on Saturday, February 11th, 2012
at 2:00 pm

The meeting will be in the museum’s auditorium at 549 Little Lake Park Road, Midland, Ontario.

Revised Endowment Fund by-law #3-11 and revised Letters Patent to include new activities in the museum’s statement of purpose to be presented to the membership.

Four positions are available on the board of directors. Directors must be members in good standing; membership can be purchased at the Huronia Museum.

November 24th – Literary book reading, sign and sale, Mariposa Writers’ Group

The Mariposa Writers’ Group reading, sale and sign event for their new anthology:

A Canvas Of Words, a literary anthology of 100 stories, poems, essays and photographs.

Thursday, November 24, 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

at the Huronia Museum in Midland.

A Canvas of Words, 266 pages, regular price $20.00  Save 20% and meet some of the contributing authors.  The book contains work by 22 authors.

MWG has members from the Orillia and north Simcoe area.  The Mariposa Writers’ Group (MWG) was formed in the mid 1990s by people who wanted to write, share skills and information and have an opportunity to hear their works read.  The first meeting was held at the home of Marilyn Rumball.  Of course, becoming published was everyone’s goal.  This goal was realized in 2010 when the MWG anthology,  “Our Literary Lapses” was released.  This anthology contains fifty pieces of poetry and prose contributed by seventeen members of the MWG. A Canvas of Words is the second anthology by the group.
