Huronia Museum and Huron Ouendat Village wil be unveiling a new exhibit by Metis artist, Timothy D. Mohan, entitled, Break from Tradition featuring forty original paintings.
“I want to create original themes that reflect First Nations culture as well as intertwining more modern themes, history and techniques,” says Mohan.
Mohan’s success as an artist took off when Canadian fashion icon, Linda Lundstrom chose his motif, “River Woman” for her 2004 and 2006 La Parka series. From that first exposure on the national scene, Mohan’s paintings have been featured on the covers of Alberta Native News and Western Native News. Mohan’s artwork has also been used by M.A.D.D.” Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers” Victoria chapter, British Columbia.
