The first picture appeared in the County Herald, October 22nd, 1954. The subsequent photos were not published. It appears that the car was driven into the water on the south side of the slip, just west of the elevator. Likely in front of the power plant.

1949 model car was finally hauled from the slip in Port McNicoll after three tries by G and T motors of Waubaushene with the help of Bob Carson as a diver. Car had been stolen in Toronto and intentionally ditched in the middle of the night. CPR police officer Henry Valcheff heard the splash.
