    • Yes, the Georgian Bay Lumber Company exhibit is still on display. We don’t have an exact end date, but it should be up for a while still.

  1. The hours of operation are not “child friendly”. In order to have my elementary school aged children experience the museum, I would have to pull them from school. Seems odd..

  2. What about holidays? Are you open? If so, what are the hours? I’m looking to visit on civic holiday. August 4, 2014

    • Yes we are. Regular hours 9am -5pm. See you then! Dont hesitate to comment or call if you have any more questions.

  3. Agree with Geri above, to be closed over both weekend days seems to exclude visiting with school aged children during the school year! We have been visiting Midland for 11 years, always over a weekend, and never been able to see the museum.

    • I am sorry you feel that way. The museum has experimented with hours on weekends, and even Wednesday evenings over the past few years.

We found that there just wasn’t the traffic to allow us to be open in colder months, on weekends. We are still open Monday to Friday from 9 am until 5 pm year round.
There are also plenty of weekends that we are open, 7 days a week from May until mid-October, as well as during our many weekend events year round. Remember, we are open on PA Days as well as other school holidays. Feel free to call to verify our hours at any given time.

    • Hi Dominic
We have a group rate of $7.50 per person. We also have a number of great tours and programs. You can talk to the education coordinator Gillian here at the museum at (705) 526 -2844

      • I am writing on behalf of FCSAV re a group of seniors ,mostly Chinese , having a tour of the museum and. Village, most likely in mid Aug, on a sat. I would like to get some Details of your education program suitable for seniors.or must I talk directly to your education co-ordination?
        Thanks.

      • Thank you for your interest, Anna. If you are bringing the group, but they will be self guided, just let us know the date and time. If you would like a specific program, please email Gillian, our education Coordinator at education@huroniamuseum.com or call her at (705) 526- 2844. She can help you pick the right program for you, and let you know which dates are available. Thanks so much! We look forward to seeing you in August.
